Hikone became famous from the localized mascot Hikonyan. The attractions of Hikone are the beautiful townscape retained from the Castletown, the Genkyuen which is a former daimyo residence, and of course, the Hikone Castle.
Hikone Castle Registered as the national treasure, the Castle Tower of Hikone Castle still remains its features from the past. The building, of course, is beautiful but in spring, over 1000 cherry blossoms bloom and the beauty of Hikone Castle stands out even more.
Umoreginoya Umoreginoya is a famous house where Naosuke II spent his youth. The discipline here developed his ability and later on made him become the chief master.
Former Uoyacho As the Castletown of Hikone Castle, former Uoyacho still remains the beautiful townscape. Uoyacho was named as it since there were many fish stores, and still there are houses with wells and many of them are registered as the designated cultural properties.
